PAUL THOMPSON - Ullswater, The Lake District, 1967

I AM NOT CERTAIN OF THE YEAR I THINK I WAS 18 AT THE TIME. I AM IN THE CENTRE ON FRONT ROW.
I LOVED EVERY MINUTE, UNFORGETABLE MONTH IN MALLORY PATROL.
I LEARNT SO MUCH ABOUT MYSELF AND OTHERS CHARACTER.
STILL LOVE THE LAKES AND ULSWATER, STILL SPECIAL, ESPECIALY AIRE FORCE.
I HAD NEVER CAMPED BEFORE OR FELL WALKED LET ALONE ABSEILED.
MAY THE OUTWARD BOUND FOREVER SURVIVE TO GIVE OTHERS, LIKE MYSELF THE OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME.
I WAS AN APPRENTICE ENGINEER WITH MATHER AND PLATTS AT THE TIME, AND THIS WAS MY REWARD FOR APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR.
