Phill White - Eskdale, The Lake District, 1981

Eskdale
I completed the outward bound course at Eskdale in 1981/82? on Course E310 in Scott patrol. It was a fantastic experiance and brought myself out and changed me as a person forever.I met some great people whom i shared a fantastic time with,A great mix of people.
I remember the jog and dip in the lake at the crack of dawn! and all the walks/climbs we did.
The solo also is a thing i loved and will never forget.
Also,The slide show of mountain scenes and music "pink floyd, shine on you crazy diamond" which even today when i play it takes me back to that night.
The informal get togethers as well and playing vollyball. The instructors who were fantastic,Especially Rex(from New Zealand).
I could go on and on......
It was just incredible what we all achieved and did.I am proud and have still got my pin badge and certificate.

Recently,I have asked what mountains/routes we would have done back then? and if anybody would like to get in touch or add to this story, please do.

I went back about 3 years ago via Ravenglass railway to Eskdale centre and it was very emotional to walk around the house and lake again.I was lucky enough to obtain a photo of our Scott patrol back then.

many,many Thanks outward bound.
